Internet Security Presentation

Following the General Meeting on 4th February 2019, Peter Bayliss gave a presentation on Internet Security and how to stay safe.

The tools mentioned were:

• Avast Online Security – Browser plugin to check websites
• Hoax-Slayer.com and Snopes.com to check internet scams
• Password Managers Lastpass (demonstrated) or 1Password.

Postscript to the presentation. I thought that Lastpass would prompt to add a new site username+password, but on checking I find that this has to be done manually in some cases. For example when you have more than one login for a website e.g. multiple mail accounts. (Click on the Lastpass icon. Select Sites then copy and paste the login info before logging in)
