Last year the group decided to widen the area where our events take place and to also organise the occasional lunchtime event instead of during the evening.
In April last year the group went to the Attico Restaurant in Javea, and in November held a lunchtime event at the EL Campo restaurant, also in Javea. Both were very popular, and so in February we decided to once again go to the Attico, but to have one event at lunchtime and the other during the evening. We were interested to find out which was the more popular as far as numbers were concerned as the same menu was served at both events for the same price.
Both events were well attended, virtually filling the restaurant on both occasions, and marginally more people went to the lunchtime event than in the evening.
For some time we’ve been asking for more volunteers to organise and be the hosts at our events, and Steward and Hilary Wass stepped forward and organised both the February events. So a very big thank you goes to them both for hosting two very successful Dining Out occasions.
The Attico has a reputation for providing well cooked food at a very reasonable price and Restaurateur Sol again did just that.
The starters of a roast beef salad, a crispy timbal of vegetables and goats cheese and peppers stuffed with cod and smoked salmon were places En Centro to share. Main dishes of duck, lamb, pork, cod or salmon followed, plus a dessert and coffee. There was a lot of food for everyone to enjoy and it was all beautifully prepared. No-one went home hungry!
To provide all this, with a welcome cava, bread and aioli, half a bottle of wine or 2 beers plus water for 27.50€ per person must make the Attico one of the best deals in the area.
