Naïve Art

October 13 @ 10:30 11:30

Speaker: Rosalind Miranda

Naïve Art is usually is usually defined as art that is created by a person who lacks the formal education and training that a professional artist undergoes, & is characterized by childlike simplicity & frankness of execution and vision. It is simple, unaffected, and unsophisticated. In the right hands, however, this does not make it any less appealing than the work of trained artists, as you will see. Sometimes it even has extra appeal. It warms the heart and soothes the soul!

In this talk, we’ll be looking at three artists, one French, one American, & one British. Two of them didn’t start painting until their 40s, one not until her late 70s. But today, their works are being sold for millions.

So, come along, perhaps to be inspired to take up painting or another craft in retirement. Who knows? You could be the next artistic sensation!
