On the 3rd and 10th March, the Dining Out Group met at Dgust restaurant, situated right in the heart of Moraira just to the side of the “fisher folk” statue. After two fabulous evenings, hosted by Colin and Sue Donadio, it’s certain that the group will dine there again.
The food and indeed the wines were of the quality only to be expected from one of the top restaurants in Moraira, and restaurateur Miguel generously included a welcome cava, a delicious sorbet and coffee in addition to the normal 3 courses, wine and water.
The first event was attended by 38 members and 43 came to the second, some of whom were new members joining the group for their first dinner. Without exception, the feedback both on the nights, and subsequently via emails, was that of very satisfied customers.
Good food, first class wines and excellent service provided by Victor and “Jennifer” and good company provided the perfect recipe for two excellent convivial evenings.
Unusually, the second event was held a week early as hosts Colin and Sue had to travel back to the UK on the 12th March. We all know what happened next: Covid-19 was spreading rapidly around the country and on the 14th a state of emergency was declared, and restaurants became off limits. Colin and Sue have called the second event the “Last Supper”. It won’t be, but it will be a while before the group can meet again. Let’s hope it isn’t too long!
Many thanks to Jan Adams for taking the pictures.
