On a cool November evening, 42 members of the Moraira/Teulada Dining Out group enjoyed a warm reception and a hearty meal at the first of two outings to Dgust Restaurant in Moraira.
After being greeted by hosts Colin and Sue Donadio, guests drew lots for table places and then sat down to mingle with their fellow guests over a welcome glass of Cava.
What followed did not disappoint: a 3-course meal with half a bottle of house wine, served by a cheerful and obliging staff.
There was a choice of starters – Caesar salad, beef stew or prawn & salmon carpaccio with Alioli and honey.
After a palate-cleansing sorbet, the main courses were served: pork tenderloin with mushroom sauce, cod fillet au gratin with Alioli and honey, or veal cheeks with cocoa and red wine.
As if that was not deliciously satisfying enough, there was a further treat to round things off – a serving of house cheesecake with ice cream!
This popular restaurant, previously visited by the Dining Out group, never disappoints for fine food, excellent presentation and service, and great value.
To round off proceedings, the restaurant turned up the tempo with a selection of songs including Neil Diamond’s “Sweet Caroline” – warmly welcomed by most guests but a little too loud for some!
Hosts Colin and Sue thanked the restaurant owner and staff for making it such a memorable evening.
Group leaders John and Meri Snell conveyed their appreciation to Colin and Sue for all their hard work in organising the event.
John added that there had been a good response to his questionnaire about future Dining Out events and said that members would be informed of the outcome when all options had been considered.
Details of the next Dining Out event will be announced in due course.
