Changes to details for the choir

Frequency: Every Thursday :- Arrive at 2:30 for a 2:45 start. Finishes at 4:45 and retire to a bar.

Venue: Top floor, Pensionistas Building, Teulada main square opposite the Town Hall. There is a lift.

The International Choir sing in 4 part harmony across many different genres. We welcome new members from all nationalities and abilities, so being able to read music is not a necessity.  We do not hold auditions, but if you are unsure what section you should be in, you can run up and down a scale to find your new home. You can come and sit on the sidelines, or just dive in and have a go. Please contact me if you plan to come and we can arrange to send you some music.

You can join the choir at any point in the year, but there are a few key times around which our calendar rotates.

In mid-January we start rehearsals for concerts to be held in May and June. In mid-June to September we enjoy casual Summer-Sing Sessions which are open to everyone, and in September we re-group to rehearse for performances in October and December.

We are led by an extremely experienced Musical Director and accompanied by a professional keyboard player, and the choir members pay “subs” twice a year which helps to cover the cost of the professional element of our choir. For Summer-Sing Sessions we pay a nominal amount (currently €5 for 2 hours) for the weeks in which we participate.

Any extra income is donated to local charities,  which apart from having fun is our main focus.

For the concerts (which are not mandatory) you need to be able to commit to attending rehearsals most weeks and put in a little bit of practise at home, but your reward will be to have fun and make new friends.
