Amongst the screams ofadoration and sounds of applause\, the concert itself has a hidden identity: a front to fish out an infamous serial killer known as The Butcher. With security cameras rigged\, armies of policemen with weapons at the ready\, and police vehicles surrounding the venue\, will anyone survive their concert experience or is there more to The Butcher than meets the eye?  \n\n\n\n(The plot was inspired by the Washington D.C. “Operation Flagship” sting operation on December 15\, 1985\, which was organised by the U.S. Marshals Service and the Metropolitan Police to lure wanted fugitives to the Washington Convention Centre under the pretence of free tickets. It resulted in 101 arrests\, one of the largest and most successful mass arrests of  fugitives by U.S. law enforcement.)

DESCRIPTION:Speaker: Angela Chantry \n\n\n\nConsidered by many to be the greatest flamenco dancer of all time\, Carmen Amaya gave her own definition to the art of flamenco. Her career began at the age of four and throughout her childhood she performed alongside her father in the taverns and music halls of Barcelona. With the outbreak of the Spanish Civil War in the 1930s she travelled the world and achieved her greatest fame in the Americas. She made films in Hollywood\, appeared on Broadway\, danced for Roosevelt and Churchill\, but always remained true to her gypsy heritage. Flamenco today is deeply indebted to Carmen Amaya – through her artistry and virtuosity she effectively altered the history of flamenco dance forever.

DESCRIPTION:CUENCA  \n\n\n\nTuesday 25th – Thursday 27th March 2025 \n\n\n\n\n\nWe will leave at about 8.30 am from La Senieta for the drive to Cuenca arriving in time for lunch in our hotel. The journey is roughly 3.5 hours so we will stop for coffee in Torrente. We will be staying in the Leonara de Aquitaine Hotel which although three star\, has been recommended by a member of the travel team who has stayed there before. It is a comfortable and clean hotel and located conveniently for the sights. We have the afternoon at leisure and meet up for a welcome drink in the bar in early evening. \n\n\n\nThe next day we will be free to explore this interesting town. See more details below. \n\n\n\nOn the 27th March after leaving the hotel we will travel to La Cuidad Encantada. After exploring this fascinating area we will drive to Bunol for lunch stopping for coffee on the way. \n\n\n\nWe hope to arrive back in Moraira in the early evening. \n\n\n\nPrice per person in a double room 270 euros each. Even if we didn’t live through those years\, it’s fun to hark back to those wild times. All good things come to an end\, though\, & that decade finished with the start of the Great Depression. As this is too . . . well\, depressing to spend much time on\, we won’t focus on the worst of it. Instead\, we’ll quickly go onto the programs in the US that helped many people get through the hardest of those dreadful times. From the general programs\, we’ll look specifically at those that helped the creative community.  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n Prepare to be surprised to hear about some artists who later became very famous & wealthy\, but who were glad to receive a paycheck of $23.60 per week during the bad years!

DESCRIPTION:Speaker: Angela Chantry \n\n\n\nConsidered by many to be the greatest flamenco dancer of all time\, Carmen Amaya gave her own definition to the art of flamenco. Her career began at the age of four and throughout her childhood she performed alongside her father in the taverns and music halls of Barcelona. With the outbreak of the Spanish Civil War in the 1930s she travelled the world and achieved her greatest fame in the Americas. She made films in Hollywood\, appeared on Broadway\, danced for Roosevelt and Churchill\, but always remained true to her gypsy heritage. Flamenco today is deeply indebted to Carmen Amaya – through her artistry and virtuosity she effectively altered the history of flamenco dance forever.

You will also be given the option to remain at either of these outlets during the visit. \n\n\n\nThe Nueva Condomina is the perfect shopping experience containing many outlets such as C&A\, H&M\,  & Primark\, as well as a selection of restaurants and snack areas. On the outskirts of the Mall\, a short stroll away\, there are numerous other outlets e.g. Media Markt etc. \n\n\n\nWhether you are re-vamping your kitchen or searching for small decorative items\, then Ikea is the place to visit. You will also be able to recharge your batteries by visiting the Ikea restaurant. The restaurant is open all day long whether it be for a cup of coffee\, a satisfying salad or\, of course\, a plate of your favourite meatballs. \n\n\n\nIf you don’t wish to shop\, you can take the tram which runs approximately every 15 minutes from the Shopping Mall into the centre of Murcia city. Both shopping areas have something for everyone\, so enjoy the day out with your friends and the U3A. \n\n\n\nWe will arrive in Moraira at about 18:30h. \n\n\n\nComplete the form below to make your reservation. At the roundabout take the 1st exit to Xalo (Jalon) / Alcalali CV750. Drive through Jalon towards Alcalali and turn left at the junction in Alcalali\, towards Parcent. At the T junction as you enter Parcent turn left. Continue 100m and on the right side is the restaurant Tramonti. We can park here wIth the permission of the owner\, provided we have coffee there after the walk.
